Marcos Benevides is the founder, president, and current publisher of Atama-ii Books. He is also the series editor and author of Immortal Empire, a title in the Atama-ii graded reader series, and co-author (with Chris Valvona) of Widgets Inc.: A task-based course in workplace English.

Benevides also co-authored the original Widgets edition (2008, now out of print) for Pearson Longman; the international award-winning Fiction in Action: Whodunit (with Adam Gray) for Abax ELT; and Reading for Speed and Fluency 2nd Edition (with Paul Nation, James Broadbridge, and Joseph Siegel) for Compass Media. He is also the series editor for Choose Your Own Adventure graded readers from McGraw-Hill Education.
